Disembark from MV Balmoral and enjoy a stroll or train trip along the famous Southend Pier, the longest pleasure pier in the world. At the other end find miles of seafront to explore, tempting Rossi ice creams, plentiful amusement arcades and windswept palm trees.

If you have the whole day, why not take the train to Leigh-on-Sea, full of independent shops and cafes and famous for the historical fishing community of Old Leigh. Stop and enjoy some fresh shellfish or a drink in one of the quaint local pubs!

Southend Pier, Western Esplanade [Pier length 1.34 miles – walk or train. Charges apply]


By road – A127/ A13 follow signs for seafront.

Car parking: Southend on Sea Borough Council Car Parks including Seaway Car Park and on Western Esplanade. Multi-storey carpark for The Royals Shopping Centre also nearby.

Public transport: Southend Central Railway Station (0.4 miles) with fast connections to London/Tilbury.
Southend Victoria Railway Station (0.8 miles), connections to London/Wickford/Chelmsford.
[From either station walk straight down the High street towards the seafront then take stairs/lift down Pier Hill]
